For someone who isn't really a wedding photographer, I've been shooting a lot of weddings in the past year. The first one this year was only three days into the new year. If you don't live in Philadelphia or its burbs, you can't really appreciate the mummers. They spend all year preparing costumes, sets and plans to participate in a parade down Broad St on New Years Day. This year it was freezing cold and was a little shorter than years past, but that didn't stop tons of people from coming out, getting drunk and watching the parade.
I went home with Bethany to Lancaster after the Christmas holiday. Shortly after we got there a 3.3 earthquake shook the house. I was more surprised how loud it was more so than the rumble. We did drive around and see some real Amish farms and covered bridges and did manage to take a few photos of the foggy landscape.
I did a few engagement portraits for Christian and Lindsay this past weekend. We lucked out and got a reasonably nice day to shoot their photos on the bay in Absecon.
I've been getting pretty excited about snowboarding this year cause it's been cold early in the season. I usually don't get my first day on the snow until after Christmas, but this year Big Boulder started making snow November 17th and opened on the 20th. I went up with Keith on Saturday and got a few runs in. They were blowing snow all day, and it was a little cold but still a lot of fun.
