Hockey

The end of high school hockey season is in sight. That means The Flyers Cup is right around the corner. We photographed a handful of the local high school hockey teams this year - both action and team shots. I shot a bunch of games this weekend, from Varsity on Friday night all the way down to the Elementary teams. It was a good warm up for the Flyers Cup.

Kristen & Paul

This weekend I worked with Jon shooting a wedding in West Chester. Paul and Kristen were a fun, awesome couple on their wedding day. After the wedding, we stopped by Victory Brewing Co in Downingtown on the way to the reception at the Desmond in Malvern. Everyone had a drink while Jon shot the bride and groom in the back where they brew the beer. Check his new blog at www.jdnphotography.net/blog to see some more photos.

Snowtographs of Snowmegeddon

If you live in the Philadelphia area, you might understand the title if you've turned on your tv in the past twenty four hours. The local news has been throwing around all kind of puns. I guess everyone is getting a little tired of the snow. I decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood here in Wayne and shoot a few photos. It was snowing sideways, so the lens got a little wet, but I rigged up a few trash bags and gaffers tape to keep the rest of it dry. I wish I would have done that for myself.

Freeze for a cause

The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation used one of my photos on their website to promote the "Freeze for a Cause" event. Dean's been considered the godfather to NJ surfing and I've been fortunate enough to know him for a while now. While I've always been amazed at his surfing ability, he's been very generous in setting up a charity for cancer patients. Make sure to check it out: http://www.deanrandazzocancerfoundation.org/latest/freeze-for-a-cause

Winter Hawk

I was working in my office last weekend, when I noticed this guy sitting outside. He didn't seem to mind me checking him out and didn't even fly away when I took the screen out of the window to take a few photos.

Retro: Hawaii

20ft Waimea shot from the Kam Highway

Late afternoon Pipeline lineup

Mark Healey - Piepline

The past few days have been a pretty cool time to be a surf fan. The Eddie Aikau Contest ran in Hawaii and the Pipeline Masters are going off now. The Eddie only runs when the surf is 20-25 ft at Waimea Bay on Oahu's North Shore. The Pipe Masters happens every year, but they're getting pretty good surf and you can watch it live online now. All this has made me nostalgic of my time in Hawaii so I dug up a few photos of big Waimea Bay and Pipeline and posted 'em since I didn't have the blog up and running back then.

Billboard Time

Ron Jon Surf Shop used one of my photos on a billboard on Rt. 528 in between Orlando and Cocoa Beach, Florida. According to my friend Justin who lived in Florida, there are two pieces. The other half is actually in line with that piece, but you can only see it as your drive west down the highway. It's lined up from a far then as you get closer the pieces drift apart. So if you're down that way keep your eyes peeled for it.
